Electromechanical Engineer

Established in 1995, Computech International (CTI) is a comprehensive technology solutions provider delivering high-quality, managed solutions for government, education, and commercial enterprises. CTI has become a significant supplier of ruggedized computers and accessories to the military. Twenty-five years in, CTI has recently relocated to Woodbury, New York, and is in search of a full—time Electrical Engineer for Electromechanical, primarily for mechanical, electronics, and computer-related work, who will be a part of our growing operations. The position is on-site in Woodbury, New York.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Reporting to a CTO and working with the Production, Purchasing, Quality and Logistics Managers
  • The Electro-Mechanical Engineer plans, designs, develops, and conducts tests on electronic cables/harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies and/or systems. 
  • The Electro-Mechanical Engineer supports built-to-print activities by providing travelers, ATPs and guiding the production team. 
  • Additional responsibilities include building BOMs, preparing drawings, and evaluating RFQs for new projects.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of the engineering department which include design, manufacture, and test electronic, and failure analysis as required.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing specifications.
  • Prepare and communicate specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment/tooling when necessary.
  • Modify design to correct operating deficiencies and/or reduce production issues.
  • Design and plan the layout of electrical assemblies to customer requirements, communicating details with Manufacturing and testing.
  • Communications and updates estimates, schedules, reports, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project.
  • Responsible for the preparation of final project reports including obtaining historical data and information.
  • Conducts a quality check of all documents and reports, verifying the accuracy of data, information, and calculations.
  • Assists in preparing and maintaining departmental policies, procedures, and manuals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience. 
  • Electro-mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, or mechanical engineer.
  • Preferred knowledge of ISO standards and documentation.
  • Familiar with IPC-610 and IPC-620 
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, and wire lists. 
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, etc. 
  • Must be able to work with others.
  • Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in Excel. 
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage. 
  • Must be a US citizen or Green Cardholder.
